I am a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While at SAIC I had the great fortune to study with some amazing painters like Ray Yoshida, Jim Lutes and many more. I focused 90% of my time on painting.
I work exclusively in oil (Oil paint feels "alive" to me. I can't imagine using another medium.), usually on cotton canvas, but occasionally on linen or wood. I consider my work to be "lyrical abstraction" and the "story" of the work usually reveals itself to me over the course of creating the piece.
Music is very important to my process and tends to infuse itself into each piece, I often make a note (on the back) of what I was listening to when I created a piece.
